Planning Committee

The Committee’s terms of reference are given on the Terms of Reference page.

Members are: Cllrs Mike Stares (Chair), Jim Emerson (Vice-Chair), Sonia Lofthouse, Barbara Newman,  David Bermingham and Robin Williamson. The quorum is three.

Important planning consideration are adherence to the Goring Neighbourhood Plan (GNP) which was made (adopted) as part of South Oxfordshire District Council’s development plan on Thursday 18 July 2019 and the Goring-on-Thames Conservation Area Appraisal (CAA) which was published by SODC on 16 January 2026.

The Planning committee meetings are normally held every three weeks on a Tuesday.
